Swimming

Swimming is one of my favorite sports and Michael Phelps is my idol in that sport. Michael Phelps born in Baltimore Maryland on June 30 1985 is the most undecorated Olympian of all time, with a total of 22 medals. Phelps also holds many records such as the most Olympic gold medals with 18, the most gold medals in individual events with 11, and more Olympic medals in men singles event with 13. In the 2008 Beijing Olympics, winning eight gold medals, Phelps established himself as the greatest gold medalist in a single edition of the games. In the 2012 London Olympics Phelps won 4 gold medals and 2 silver medals. This achievement convert him the most successful athlete of the games for the third consecutive time.
Phelps have the world record in long pool of the 100 and 200 meters butterfly, as well as former world record holder in the 200m free and combined styles. He won a total of 71 medals in major world competitions in large pools.
After the 2008 Olympics, he started the "Michael Phelps Foundation", focused on the development of swimming and promoting healthy lifestyles. I think that his personality make him a great person.

Basketball

In this basketball section I want to talk about a new sensation in the NBA his name is Derrick Rose. One of the amazing points in his carrier is that he had been recognize as a great basketball player not only in the NBA but in multiple tournaments around the nation and around the world. Other important achievement was when he played with the Tigers in the NCAA by his amazing skills of leadership he made the tigers to be in the finals.
When he declare for the NBA drafts after only a freshmen year he was picked #1 for the Chicago Bulls his hometown. This is a great achievement, and it hasn’t been accomplish since 1996 by Allen Iverson. His first year in the NBA was chose as Rocky of the year. Just Michael Jordan and Elton Brand had been chose rooky if the year in the Chicago bulls. In the season of 2010-2011 his performance was incredible and he finished in the top points and assistance lists. He was named the NVP of the league and become the youngest in the history.

Tennis

I am a great sports fan. When I was little (between 8 to 15) I used to be really bad at sports. But even that I wasn’t talented I just loved to watch great athletes. One of my idols at that time was Pete Sampras. Tennis is a sport very interesting and at that time I used to imagine myself playing like a professional. So for that reason I want to rite some words about Pete Sampras. He was born on August 12, 1971 in USA. His professional debut was in 1988. His first grand slam was the Australian. But until 1990 when he capture his first grand slam title at U.S. open. From 1990 to 2002 he won 14 grand slams. He was the world rank #1 for six years. He is a great athlete and its consider one of the greatest tennis players in the history. He was an inspiration for me to play tennis and I used to love watching him playing.
